John S. Farnam, president of Defensive Training International, is one of the top handgun instructors in the world. He has personally trained thousands of federal, state and local law enforcement personnel, as well as non-police, in the serious use of firearms. In addition, he has authored four books on the subject — “The Farnam Method of Defensive Handgunning,” “The Farnam Method of Defensive Shotgun and Rifle Shooting,” “The Street Smart Gun Book,” and “Guns & Warriors – DTI Quips Volume 1.”

Owned and operated by John Holschen. John has many years of service in the US Special Operations community as an operator and a trainer. As a civilian trainer he has worked to convert his specialized skills in the areas of weapons and combative techniques into useful defensive curricula for private citizens. John has placed among the top participants in the “National Tactical Invitational” (NTI) multiple times and has been recognized as a “Master Instructor” and “Master Tactician” by the American Tactical Shooters Association.

Citizens Safety Academy
Aqil Qadir is the founder and lead instructor of CSA. His background as a firearms instructor started at age 12, teaching urban youth in his father’s gun club. He followed in his father’s footsteps, becoming an NRA Certified Instructor at the age of 22. He has been training civilians for over 30 years and training law enforcement for over 25. His passion is teaching regular people how to keep themselves and their families safe.
Aprill Risk Consulting
William Aprill, was based out of New Orleans, LA (classes held nationally) – mental health professional and former deputy sheriff and Special Deputy US Marshal. He was a decorated competitive shooter and taught civilian, law enforcement, and military personnel in various fighting skills since 1990. He sadly passed in August, 2020. RIP my friend.
